Per noi che seguiamo con affetto Marta Menegatti questa settimana è stata …di sofferenza, tanto più quando abbiamo ricevuto la ‘telefonata speciale’ by M.M. la polesana Marta doveva ancora scendere in campo nel terzo match delle qualificazioni.
Quello che purtroppo poi si è risolto con una sconfitta vs le brasiliane Lima & Fernanda.
Peccato per le sconfitte di misura, ma …domani è un altro giorno. Oggi purtroppo devo dire che… hanno vinto in Polonia a Olsztyn le brasiliane Larissa & Talita , come peraltro tra gli uomini hanno vinto i brasiliani Alison & Bruno, mentre gli azzurri Ranghieri & Carambula si sono fermati agli ottavi.

PRIMA NEWS ( by www.federvolley.it, 25-08-2015 ) / Beach Grand Slam Olsztyn: avanti Cicolari-Momoli
Nel Grand Slam di Olsztyn (Polonia) le italiane Greta Cicolari e Giulia hanno superato il primo turno delle qualificazioni, battendo le spagnole Lobato-Soria 2-1 (19-21, 23-21, 15-8). Nel prossimo incontro le campionesse italiane se la vedranno con le brasiliane Carol-Maria Clara.
SECONDA NEWS ( by www.federvolley.it , 25-08-2015 ) Beach Gr. Slam Olsztyn: eliminate Cicolari-Momoli, domani tocca alle azzurre
Nelle qualificazioni del Grand Slam di Olsztym le italiane Greta Cicolari e Giulia Momoli sono state eliminate dalle brasiliane Carol - Maria Clara 2-0 (21-18, 21-16), dopo che in precedenza avevano superato le spagnole Lobato-Soria 2-1 (19-21, 23-21, 15-8). Domani a scendere in campo saranno le azzurre Marta Menegatti e Viktoria Orsi Toth, mentre giovedì faranno il loro esordio gli Nicolai-Lupo e Carambula-Ranghieri.

Nel Grand Slam di Olsztyn (Polonia) le azzurre Marta Menegatti e Viktoria Orsi Toth sono state sconfitte dalla coppia di Vanuatu Pata-Matauatu 2-1 (19-21, 21-14, 15-10). Le ragazze di Lissandro torneranno in campo alle ore 17 per affrontare finlandesi Lehtonen-Lahti.
QUARTA NEWS ( by www.federvolley.it , 26-08-2015 ) / Beach Gr. Slam Olsztyn: una vittoria e una sconfitta per Menegatti-Orsi Toth
Nel Grand Slam di Olsztyn (Polonia) pronto riscatto delle azzurre Marta Menegatti e Viktoria Orsi Toth che, dopo aver perso contro la coppia di Vanuatu Pata-Matauatu 2-1 (19-21, 21-14, 15-10), hanno sconfitto nettamente 2-0 (21-17, 21-13) le finlandesi Lehtonen-Lahti. Domani per le ragazze di Lissandro sarà decisiva la sfida contro le brasiliane Lima-Fernanda, considerando che tutte le coppie della Pool F sono appaiate in classifica con una vittoria.
Passando al tabellone maschile, sempre domani esordiranno le due coppie azzurre formate da Daniele Lupo - Paolo Nicolai e Alex Ranghieri - Adrian Carambula.

Nel Grand Slam di Olsztyn i Campioni Italiani Carambula-Ranghieri si sono aggiudicati il derby azzurro contro Nicolai-Lupo 2-1 (18-21, 21-18, 15-8). Adrian e Alex dopo aver perso il primo set, sono riusciti a rimontare, vincendo il secondo parziale e poi chiudendo la gara al tie-break. Nel prossimo incontro di giornata Carambula-Ranghieri se la vedranno con i brasiliani Evandro-Pedro Solberg (ore 16), mentre Nicolai-Lupo con gli svizzeri Beeler-Strasser (ore 17).

Nel Grand Slam di Olsztyn (Polonia) le azzurre Menegatti-Orsi Toth si sono classificate al 25esimo posto dopo esser state superate dalle brasiliane Lima-Fernanda 2-1 (20-22, 21-15, 15-12). In virtù dello scontro diretto sfavorevole con Pata-Matauatu, le ragazze di Lissandro hanno chiuso all'ultimo posto la propria pool, non riuscendo ad accedere al turno successivo.

Nel Grand Slam di Olsztyn (Polonia) gli azzurri Ranghieri-Carambula hanno chiuso la prima giornata con il bilancio di una vittoria un ko. I campioni italiani nel match d’esordio si sono aggiudicati il derby azzurro contro Nicolai-Lupo 2-1 (18-21, 21-18, 15-8), mentre nel secondo incontro hanno dovuto cedere ai forti brasiliani Evandro-Pedro 2-1 (17-21, 21-16, 15-8). Doppia sconfitta invece per gli azzurri Nicolai-Lupo, piegati 2-1 (24-22, 17-21, 15-13) anche dagli svizzeri Beeler-Strasser.

Nel Grand Slam di Olsztyn gli azzurri Alex Ranghieri e Adrian Carambula si sono qualificati direttamente agli ottavi , dopo aver superato gli svizzeri Beeler-Strasser 2-0 (21-18, 21-10). I campioni tricolori hanno chiuso al primo posto il proprio girone e domani torneranno in campo per cercare l'accesso dei quarti di finale. Venticinquesimo posto invece per gli azzurri Paolo Nicolai e Daniele Lupo, battuti dai forti brasiliani Evandro-Pedro 2-0 (21-17, 22-20).

Nel Grand Slam di Olsztyn (Polonia) gli azzurri Alex Ranghieri e Adrian Carambula si sono classificati al nono posto, dopo esser stati sconfitti dagli americani Dalhausser-Lucena 2-1 (21-18, 21-23, 15-10). Contro la nuova coppia statunitense i campioni italiani hanno faticato nel primo set, mentre nel secondo sono riusciti ad imporsi ai vantaggi. Nel tie-break Dalhausser-Lucena hanno subito preso il comando, senza concedere chances agli azzurri per rientrare.

Olsztyn, Poland, August 30, 2015 – World champion duo Alison Cerutti and Bruno Schmidt won their fifth consecutive FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour gold when they defeated Jacob Gibb and Casey Patterson in the Olsztyn Grand Slam gold medal match on Sunday.
The Brazilians hit their stride early in the match and maintained their red-hot form to beat the American duo 2-0 (21-10, 21-15).
“It has come at an excellent time because it is the Olympic qualifying period,” Bruno said. “We feel really good and played very well in this tournament and continued to raise our level right to the end and the final.”
“Bruno was fantastic again, he is the best in the world right now,” Alison said. “In the semifinal he was amazing with his service and attack and he saved me a lot in the final.”
The pair’s gold at the Netherlands 2015, FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships was followed up by further gold at the Gstaad Major Series event and the Yokohama and Long Beach Grand Slams.
Their next stop is the Rio de Janeiro Open on Copacabana Beach, which will serve as a test event for the Rio de Janeiro 2016, Olympic Games.
“We have to try and save some energy because we are really tired,” Bruno added. “Our bodies are aching, but we love this sport.
“Our coaches push us all the time, so this isn’t just about us, but the whole group.”
The silver medal is Patterson and Gibb’s second appearance on a World Tour podium in 2015. Earlier in the season they won the St Petersburg, Florida Grand Slam.
“They are the best team in the world right now,” Gibb said. “They are wonderful, but not unbeatable. There are a wonderful team and I love those guys. I am very happy for them, but they are not unbeatable.”
Saxton and Schalk break German duck for bronze
Chaim Schalk and Ben Saxton ended a run of five losses to Jonathan Erdmann and Kay Matysik to win bronze.
The Canadian pair needed two match points, but eventually Schalk scored the winning point for a 2-0 (21-18, 21-17) victory. It is their second medal in two World Tour tournaments following silver at the Yokohama Grand Slam.
“They always play tough against us and we’ve taken our time to figure them out, plus we are playing a higher level than we have in the past,” Schalk said. “Our coach Jason Lochhead has been incredible for us and we’ve been in California with a lot of the USA team, it has been a gradual process, but it is going our way.”
“Hopefully we can start the next season this way and carry it through to future seasons,” Saxton added. “We’re improving as the results show and hopefully we’ll continue to thrive.”

Olsztyn, Poland, August 29, 2015 – Larissa Franca and birthday girl Talita Antunes won a fifth gold medal of the 2015 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour season when they defeated Marleen van Iersel and Madelein Meppelink in the Olsztyn Grand Slam gold medal match on Saturday.
The Brazilians repeated their Moscow Grand Slam victory over the Dutch duo with a 2-0 (21-12, 21-16) victory.
“She has given me a wonderful gift,” Talita said. “It was a beautiful match and we played so well and with our heart. I’m so happy with this present.”
“The Dutch are a tough team and they always fight hard in their games,” Larissa said. “Today I think me and Talita stuck together well. It has been a long season and today was a special day for us because we have now won five this season.”
The Olsztyn gold will sit alongside their golds from the Moscow and Long Beach Grand Slam and the Porec and Gstaad Major Series tournaments from earlier in the season.
Their next stop is back home next week at the Rio de Janeiro Open, which also serves as a test event for the Rio de Janeiro 2016, Olympic Games.
With less than a year until Rio 2016 begins Larissa and Talita face stiff competition from world champions Agatha Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas and former partners Juliana Felisberta and Maria Antonelli for the two places on Copacabana Beach.
“We are going home after a long season and it will be beautiful to play in Rio,” Talita said. “One year before Rio 2016, we want to be there.”
Van Iersel and Meppelink were unable to end their wait for a World Tour gold after previously winning two silvers and a one bronze in 2015.
"This sucks,” van Iersel said. “We had some starting problems in the first set. They were playing very well. In the second set we were able to play our own game. We did create some opportunities, but we didn't finish them, so that sucks.
"It was a closer game than Moscow. If we play our level, like here in the second set, we can really give them a hard time and create opportunities."
Home delights for Kolosinska and Brzostek
Poland’s Kinga Kolosinska and Monika Brzostek delighted the Olsztyn centre court crowd when they won their first ever World Tour medals with bronze.
The two 23-year-olds defeated Dutch qualifiers Sophie van Gestel and Jantine van der Vlist 2-0 (21-12, 21-16) to serve notice of their potential.
“We focused on van der Vlist all match because she is less experienced,” Brzostek said. “It is amazing to win our first Grand Slam medal in front of friends and family, it makes it really special.”
